Can you abuse ChatGPT or Claude if you dont like their respone? Prominent AI company Anthropic has made a major change in the usage policies for its AI chatbot Claude. The company has clarified in its policy that if a user consistently engages in unwarranted cruel or abusive behavior or hurls insults at Claude AI, their account may be banned.

You might have often seen people using foul language when they dont get the desired from an AI bot. Experts believe that doing so can harm the users themselves.

What is the new rule
A ban has been imposed on continuous and unwarranted abuse, cruetly or mistreatment toward the AI model. This new policy will come into effect on November 12, 2026. If a user crosses the line, the AI chatbot will first terminate the conservation right there. Upon repeated violations, the user's account may be suspended or banned.

You can raise questions
This means that of Claude provides incorrect information and you inform it that its response is wrong, it will not automatically be considered a violation of the rule. You can disagree with it question its answer and ask it to provide a better response. This rule will apply only to cases where the AI is deliberately and needlessly being tormented or abused repeatedly.

Does abusing AI make its responses worse?
It Would not be accurate to say that every AI will intentionally give bad answers upon being abused or that it will always give better answers when treated politely. An AI's response depends on the model, the question, the context provided, and the prompt instructions. Different research studies have found varying effects depending on the tone of the language used.

It can adversely affect the model's response
AI models learn from user inputs. The continuous use for abusive language can negatively impacy the models responses and training data. Anthropic researchers have long been studying AI model welfare and its sensitivity. This is the first time a major AI company has placed its models safety rules under the category of human safety rules.
