The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced changes to the booking system for Sugam Darshan passes at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, allowing devotees to plan their visits further in advance. Under the revised arrangement, online applications can be submitted up to 90 days before the intended date of darshan, compared with the earlier limit of 15 days. The Trust has also increased the daily quota of online passes from 975 to 2,000, with the possibility of a further increase depending on demand. The measures are intended to make darshan more accessible, improve travel planning for devotees coming from different parts of the country and reduce dependence on intermediaries. According to the announcement, the changes were approved by Trust General Secretary Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj following discussions with Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra (Retd.) and the information technology team. The CEO has been tasked with overseeing the implementation of the revised system.

Passes to Be Released in Seven Advance Booking Stages
Under the proposed booking arrangement, Sugam Darshan passes will be released in seven stages, corresponding to 90, 62, 30, 14, seven, three and one day before the scheduled visit. An additional eighth stage will provide same-day instant passes for devotees seeking darshan at short notice. The staggered release system is designed to give more people opportunities to obtain passes instead of concentrating all applications within a single booking window. It is also expected to benefit visitors who need to arrange transport, accommodation and other travel requirements well in advance. The Trust plans to keep reviewing demand, bookings and operational arrangements to determine whether the daily pass quota can be increased further. The revised quota of 2,000 online passes per day has reportedly taken immediate effect, while the expanded booking stages and other software-related improvements will be introduced gradually after the necessary development and testing are completed.

Verification System Planned to Prevent Misuse; Passes Remain Free
The Trust is also developing a verification-based booking system to prevent automated reservations, suspicious activity and misuse of the online facility. Under the proposed process, advance applications will not receive immediate confirmation. Instead, applicants will generally be informed of the decision within 24 to 48 hours after technical verification. Submitting an application will not guarantee that a pass will be issued. However, same-day instant passes will not be subject to this waiting period and are intended to be confirmed immediately, according to the announcement. The Trust has emphasised that all Sugam Darshan passes are completely free of charge. Devotees have been advised not to pay anyone or seek assistance from intermediaries to obtain a pass. Anyone demanding money for the service can report the matter to the Trust. Devotees should use the authorised booking website, online.srjbtkshetra.org, and rely on official information for updates. The revised measures aim to make the booking process more transparent, secure and convenient while giving genuine devotees a better opportunity to visit Ram Lalla.
