Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has expressed confidence in her nephew Akash Anand, saying he is now showing greater maturity and prioritising the party and its movement over family relationships. She made the remarks while announcing a series of party programmes across Uttar Pradesh and other states ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Mayawati also categorically ruled out the possibility of reinstating Akash Anand’s father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, in the BSP.

Akash Anand to Address Rallies Across Uttar Pradesh
According to Mayawati’s announcement on social media platform X, Akash Anand is scheduled to address public meetings in Bulandshahr on October 28, Saharanpur on November 2, Ayodhya on November 20, Agra on November 22 and Kanpur Nagar on November 29. He will also attend a BSP-organised seminar in Punjab on November 26 to mark Constitution Day. On December 6, he is scheduled to address another seminar in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand, on the occasion of Dr B. R. Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas.

Mayawati Explains Action Against Ashok Siddharth

Mayawati said Ashok Siddharth was more responsible than Akash Anand for the recent developments that led to internal difficulties within the party. She stated that Siddharth was expelled from the BSP and advised to retire from politics. Rejecting speculation about his possible return, the BSP chief said there was no truth to such reports and that he would not be readmitted under any circumstances.

Ishan Anand to Assist at BSP’s Delhi Office
Mayawati also announced that Akash Anand’s younger brother, Ishan Anand, would assist the party as an active worker at its central office in Delhi. She said Ishan, who has completed his legal studies in London, would help with election-related responsibilities and documentation under her guidance.

The BSP chief also cautioned party leaders and workers against attempts by what she described as self-interested elements to mislead people. She urged them to remain vigilant and work together to ensure the success of the programmes assigned to Akash Anand.
