A major development has emerged in the case involving the deaths of five members of a family in Nagla Padam village, under the Rabupura police station area of Greater Noida. Police have arrested the deceased man’s two sisters and brother-in-law after an audio recording recovered from his mobile phone reportedly raised suspicions about their alleged role in the case. Investigators are examining the recording and other evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Five Members of the Family Found Dead

On October 17, 2026, the bodies of Mahesh, around 37, his wife Lalita, around 35, and their three children were found at their home. The children were identified as Laddu, also known as Sakshat, around 11, Misty, around seven, and Riyansh, around three.

According to preliminary information, the family returned home on the night of October 16, had dinner and went to sleep. They were found dead the following morning. Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the Food Safety Department examined the scene. Police also reviewed nearby CCTV footage, which reportedly showed no unidentified person entering the house.

Property Dispute Under Investigation

During the investigation, police recovered an audio recording from Mahesh’s mobile phone in which he reportedly held his elder sister Sunita, brother-in-law Shekhar, and younger sister Sapna responsible for the situation. Investigators are examining the recording alongside other evidence.

According to information gathered from neighbours and relatives, a property dispute may have contributed to tensions within the family. Sunita allegedly influenced their mother, Chandrawati, to transfer ownership of the house in her name, where Mahesh had been living with his mother. Police are investigating these claims to determine whether the alleged dispute was connected to the deaths.

Three Accused Arrested, Forensic Reports Awaited

Following a written complaint from Lalita’s brother, a case was registered under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to abetment of suicide. On October 18, police arrested Shekhar alias Chandrashekhar, around 50, Sunita, around 45, and Sapna, around 32.

Police said the accused were being questioned and further legal proceedings were underway. The bodies underwent post-mortem examinations conducted by a medical panel, with the process reportedly videographed. Viscera samples were preserved and sent for forensic testing.

The exact cause and circumstances of the five deaths remain subject to scientific examination and further investigation. Police are examining all available evidence before reaching any conclusions about responsibility.
