PM Kisan 24th Installment : Farmers waiting for the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme are hoping for an announcement before Diwali. Many had expected the next ₹2,000 payment to arrive during the Durga Puja period, but that did not happen. Now, speculation is growing that the instalment could be released before Diwali. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Varanasi on October 25 has added to these expectations. Some believe the next payment could be announced during the event. However, the government has not yet officially confirmed the release date.
PM Modi Scheduled to Visit Varanasi on October 25
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, on October 25. During the visit, he is expected to attend the Indian Air Force’s Ganga Air Show and address a large public gathering. The event has prompted speculation about a possible announcement regarding the next PM-KISAN instalment. The government has previously released financial assistance to farmers during various official programmes. As a result, farmers are hopeful that the Prime Minister could announce the 24th instalment from Varanasi. However, October 25 should currently be treated only as a possible date, not a confirmed payment deadline.
Farmers Receive ₹6,000 Annually Under PM-KISAN
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually. The amount is transferred directly to their bank accounts in three equal instalments. Each instalment provides ₹2,000, generally at four-month intervals. According to the available information, the scheme’s 23rd instalment was released in June. Farmers have been waiting for the next payment since then. Expectations are that the money could arrive in late October or early November. However, the actual date can only be confirmed through an official government announcement.
Money Transferred Directly Through DBT
Payments under the PM-KISAN scheme are transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Eligible beneficiaries should ensure that their bank account details are correct and that the account is linked to Aadhaar. The DBT facility should also be active. Errors in banking information can lead to payment delays or other complications. Farmers are therefore advised to verify their account details in advance so that they do not face unnecessary problems when the next instalment is released.
eKYC and Land Verification Are Essential
Completing electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) verification is necessary to receive benefits under the scheme. Farmers who have not completed the process may experience delays in receiving their instalments. They can complete eKYC through OTP-based authentication or an available biometric facility. Verification of land records is also important. If the required land-related documents have not been verified, the payment may be delayed. Farmers should check their eligibility and ensure that all scheme-related requirements have been completed to avoid potential problems.
When Will the 24th Instalment Be Released?
The main question for farmers is when the next ₹2,000 instalment will reach their accounts. At present, October 25 has emerged as a possible date because of the Prime Minister’s scheduled programme in Varanasi. However, there is no official confirmation that the payment will be released on that day. Farmers should therefore avoid treating the date as final until the government makes an announcement. In the meantime, eligible beneficiaries should ensure that their eKYC, bank account details and land verification are complete to minimise the risk of unnecessary payment delays.
